Abstract: A new simple novel electrochemical sensing platform based on electrodeposition of nano zinc oxide on to multiwalled carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode was constructed. The modified electrode was characterized by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance in a redox probe. The electrode surface area after modification was 0.15 cm2, which was twice large that of a bare glassy carbon electrode. The new fabricated sensor was applied for individual and simultaneous determination of caffeine and acetaminophen. The limit of detection (LOD)for individual determination was 3.69×〖10〗^(-8) M for acetaminophen and 3.52×〖10〗^(-8) M for caffeine. The electrode showed good reproducibility, sensitivity and stability for detection of both acetaminophen and caffeine. A good recovery level obtained for real samples suggests practical utility of the ZnO/MWCNT/GCE as an effective sensor for simultaneous determination of acetaminophen and caffeine.
